Opinion According- to an insider's info, this phone will be discontinued once the current stock is running out, and a new 5G phone (probably named as K30s 5G) priced below $240 will come in to replace it. K30s 5G will be a better phone with SoC more powerful than SD730G and with integrated 5G modem. Eventually, K30S 5G (with a new SoC) will move towards $200 and K30 5G (SD765G) will move towards $250.

Some Redmi K20 users may be a bit of much disappointed by the switch from OLED to LCD, but it is what it is. And the Snapdragon 730G is hardly an upgrade over the regular 730 version inside the K20. But probably the most obvious omission will be the dedicated zoom camera, which has been replaced with the far less popular macro shooter.

Verdict

Xiaomi Redmi K30 is an impressive mid-range smartphone that comes with a lot of flagship features. It bears a fully bezel-less and notch-less display having high resolution that describes the quality of the view. The cameras are also superb. It delivers smooth performance backed by healthy battery capacity and fast charging support. The storage department of the device is slightly disappointing since there is no expandability.

Xiaomi Redmi K30 flaunts a panorama display that comes with a screen height of 6.39-inch. It carries a screen resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels along with a pixel density of 403 PPI. In addition to that, the display type is AMOLED, which offers superb viewing experience.

Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, which carries an octa-core processor setup consisting of 2.2GHz dual-core and 1.8GHz hexa-core Kryo 470. It is assisted by the Adreno 618 GPU and a 6GB RAM, which can handle the graphics and provides a smooth performance.

Redmi K30i is tipped to be in the works and it could launch as a more affordable version f the Redmi K30 5G. To recall, the Redmi K30 was launched back in December 2019 and was rebranded as POCO X2 in the Indian market. The brand in March introduced the Redmi K30 Pro flagship in China as a successor to the Redmi K20 Pro. The Redmi K30i will be cheaper than both the Redmi K30 and Redmi K30 Pro, according to a new tip by Xiaomishka. Redmi K30i model will will be a first in the Redmi K-series line-up and should also give consumers more affordable choices. The tipster claims the main difference will be that the 64MP camera will be replaced with a 48MP sensor on the Redmi K30i.

Redmi K30i price is said to be around RMB 1,799 (approx Rs 19,500), meaning there will be compromises in terms of design and internal hardware. It remains to be seen if the Redmi K30i will have 5G connectivity, although it seems highly unlikely given the speculated pricing. Unfortunately, not much else is revealed about the Redmi K30i at the moment, but we’re sure to come across more details if it’s indeed in the works.
